Evaluation in a Nutshell, 2e is practical guide for all students of health promotion. Intended to equip the reader with the ability to understand, interpret and assess the quality of published research, to excite interest in evaluation and promote further study that would lead to the development of practical skills in evaluation.
Two new chapters- provide an introduction to the strategic and technical issues in evaluation, and some of the practical and scientific challenges related to the evaluation of health promotion projects and programs. The book is linked to the web site through which there will be regular updates on new examples and case studies of evaluation designs and methods. Evaluations have to be tailored to suit the activity and circumstances of individual projects and programs - no single method or design can be “right” for all programs. This book aids the student in developing an evaluation design for a health promotion project to fit the circumstances within which the project is being implemented, by: - Considering the differences between a discrete project a more comprehensive program; - Explaining the types of different intervention strategies that can be used in different settings; - Guiding the reader through the different target populations that a project or program may be aimed at |
